1.
You're a nightmare in the daylight You're my own personal hell You torture me so emphatically In a way you do so well Blood red lips From where you chewed up my insides Tell me baby Are you loathsome tonight? You tell me things You know will break my heart Nothing left for me to do But wait to fall apart Bright green eyes But you aren't the jealous type Tell me baby Are you loathsome tonight? As my memory decays I'll cling on to my hate Tell me baby Are you loathsome tonight? It stands to reason You're the girl that i can't live without So tell me baby Are you coming home tonight?

Lies 03:04
She told him such lies Made him tear out his eyes Just to avoid her sadistical smiles So he lied to himself It's what he does best He tries to take the easy way out It's the lies, lies, lies that we tell ourselves x3 We lie to ourselves It'll all be ok They tell themselves every day Just to avoid a horrible truth So they plastered their smiles It was fine for a while But the lies never quite went away It's the lies, lies, lies that we tell ourselves x3 We lie to ourselves
3.
I fell fast, i fell hard I was having trouble getting up off the ground There's blood, on my knees From where i landed saying darling baby please Don't go, don't go 'Cause i need you to know Lovin' me ain't easy x2 You picked me up off the floor Like you've done so many times before 'Cause loving' me, ain't easy Easy at all Out of sight, out of mind Running out of patience, running out of time No grudge, no blame You could do better but it wouldn't be the same So don't go, don't go 'Cause i need you to know Lovin' me ain't easy x2 You picked me up off the floor Like you've done so many times before 'Cause loving' me, ain't easy Easy at all

Fine 04:12
Would it be ok if i told you a lie? I think i'm probably doing fine It's a little hard to say for sure If you ignore the bottles by my head And the smell of whiskey one my breath It makes it easier to pretend Don't know where to go Don't know what to do I'm gonna struggle Without you These days i don't tell so many jokes The laughs feel hollow and full of smoke It's a little hard to try and smile these days I get real tired and i go to bed And i lay awake all night instead It's a little hard to turn off my brain Don't know where to go Don't know what to do I'm gonna struggle Without you

You Gotta Go 01:31
I couldn't give a reason, couldn't say what for But all i wanna see is you walk out the door You used me and abused me, treat me like a dog But now you've slipped and now you've tripped and i won't take any more You gotta go, you gotta go, you gotta go go go x3 You gotta go, go, go go go, you gotta go I've still got the foot prints that you left on my back I'm sick of lying down, i'm going on the attack Pedal to the floor i'm cutting my break lines There's no way i'm getting off this getaway ride You gotta go, you gotta go, you gotta go go go x3 You gotta go, go, go go go, you gotta go

Most songs written by Phil Steadman.

Initial idea for 'Are You Loathsome Tonight?' came from a jam with Mike Foy (check out 'Able's Army' for some great indie/rock tunes). It was originally a 6/8 fuzzy jam where we were trying to be like Weezer. I added the Elvis Presley pun and ran with it. Thanks Mike!!

Extra help with arranging 'Lovin' Me Ain't Easy' was with Alex Gale and Simon Halls (my Drunken Duncan bandmates). We've been playing this one live a little, but i had a recording of it i liked so i ran with it. Thanks guys (and sorry)...

EP was mastered by Adam Scratcherd. He plays occasionally under the moniker 'Scratchy The Lion'. Find him on SoundCloud and take a listen for some excellent 70's inspired music. Think Paul Simon and James Taylor.

EP artwork by the always excellent Alex Gale. My EPs never manage to sound as good as he makes them look. Check out 'Mix It Up Creative' for the graphics work he does with his twin brother Pat.

I'm gonna call it 'slacker pop'. Seems apt.
